NHS Shetland is the regional NHS board responsible for the health care of the population of Shetland, with a vision that “everyone in Shetland can live well for longer, and easily access the support they need from us”. Operating the Gilbert Bain Hospital, as well as a range of Health Centres throughout the isles, NHS Shetland work towards three key objectives:

  • Providing excellent services for people
  • Supporting the building blocks of healthy communities
  • Creating the conditions for a sustainable organisation
