Introducing- Brian Chittick

Chief Executive of NHS Shetland

Brian joined NHS Shetland in 2015 and has undertaken the roles of Dental Director, Medical Director and Chief Officer of the Integration board. As of July 2023, Brian has taken on the role of Chief Executive of NHS Shetland. Brian sees it as a real privilege to be part of the Shetland Partnership’s Management and Leadership Team, as it enables him to advocate for the futures of the people of Shetland.

In the next three years, through the use of the Partnership, Brian would like to have made big steps with NHS Shetland’s early action and prevention activity, taking a strengths based approach to enable people to live as well and as healthily as they can in our community and improving outcomes for our community, whilst taking a person centred approach

Brian believes the partnership would best serve the community by taking a collaborative and relational approach to tackling some of the wicked issues we face, including climate change and tackling inequalities. He can see that the partnership provides a momentum to make things better for people in the future and hopes it will allow us to be as inclusive as possible, to support our community, and the individuals within it, to fulfil their full potential.
