Right Information, Right Time

What was the Project?

It can often be frustrating not knowing who or how people can get the support they need at the right time. This Project was about looking at technological solutions to help. The Project also looked at other barriers that support staff may have when trying to ensure necessary support is provided. An example of this might be not having the skills or confidence to deal with things at a time when people need it.

Launched in 2019, the Project outlined two key objectives:

  • To ensure Shetland’s workforce has the knowledge, skills and confidence to routinely refer people to income maximisation and employability support services, as required.
  • To ensure Shetland’s people can access the support they need.

The Project is part of the “Money” priority of Shetland’s Partnership Plan. A key outcome in the plan that the Project is working towards is:

“Everyone will be able to access the support they need to maximise their income potential; including innovative, flexible and entrepreneurial employment opportunities throughout Shetland.”

The Project hopes to result in:

  • Increased uptake of support services.
  • Reduced cases of where people haven't received the right service.
