Neil Grant

Director of Development Services, Shetland Islands Council

Neil has been Director of Development Services for the Shetland Islands Council since 2011. Prior to this he was the General Manager for the Shetland Development Trust. A qualified chemical engineer, Neil worked for BOC on cryogenic plants before moving back to Shetland.

One key thing that Neil would like to see achieved through the Shetland Partnership, is significant progress in Place planning. With communities being genuinely involved and having a say in the places where they live. This will require the Partnership to work together in promoting and using a ground up approach.

Neil believes that the Shetland Partnership can best serve the community by having a clear and joined up voice, with a clear evidence base and working towards a clear set of outcomes.
