According to CACI paycheck data (2021), 47% of households in Shetland did not earn enough to live well, based on the minimum income standard for remote and rural areas. This was significantly higher than the target set of 35% for 2021, and whilst it matches the figure for 2020, having increased slightly from 2019 (46%), it is still only marginally less than the baseline figure of 49%.
N.B.: This Indicator is currently not being tracked due to the length of time since the source data was gathered (The Minimum Income Standard for Remote Rural Scotland).
