Skills and Learning
What has the Project done to date?
Initial activity focussed on skills and learning planning for Shetland. Through engagement with Skills Development Scotland and other partners, the Shetland Skills Charter was produced.
A further element to the Shetland Skills Charter was the Employability Task Force. This was set up to ensure coordination and availability of various support measures, and to understand where jobs have been lost or created.
In 2018 the Shetland Skills Survey was produced. This survey highlighted a number of issues relating to local training and recruitment, and engagement with local training providers.
Skills Development Scotland also presented the Shetland Islands Council Community Charter to the Shetland Partnership Management and Leadership Team. This charter is currently being looked into further at a partnership level.
